Nog maar 9 dagen voordat we vliegen. Het gaat een drukke week worden van dubbel checken of alles wat ik afgezegd heb ook echt verwerkt is in alle Nederlandsche administratie systemen. Ook veel afscheid nemen ook al geloof ik niet zo in afscheid nemen. Het is maar 4,5 uur vliegen en we hebben internet en dit prachtige blog om nog contact te houden. Daarbij weet je nooit wat de toekomst gaat brengen.

Het kleine mannetje Ilai had ons vanochtend weer netjes om 7 uur wakker gemaakt en Mya zit nu aan mijn hoofd te zeuren over een barbie paard dat haar koets moet trekken maar dat ik beneden al diep ergens in een doos heb ingepakt.

Ilai komt sinds deze week kirrend en met zeer complexe tijgerbewegingen vooruit. Met de grootst mogelijke intensiteit focust hij zich op een object een meter van hem vandaan en krijgt het in zijn graaihandjes gepaarrd met veel gepruttel en andere buitenaardse geluiden.

Benieuwd hoe ze gaan reageren op de grote verhuizing. Vooral Mya zal wel even moeten wennen. Verwacht wel dat het een erg fijn moment wordt als onze zee container daar aankomt en ze weer met haar eigen speelgoed aan de gang kan. Dat is nu toch een beetje haar wereld. Al die poppetjes en verhalen die ze eromheen verzint.

Niet vergeten deze week de Sligro even te bezoeken. Paar dozen van onze favoriete koffie, hagelslag en andere Nederlansche goodies inslaan. Toch ruimte genoeg in onze zee container

One of those lovely things that are born out of necessity. Cholent is a slowly heated dish (simmering and stewing) that has to be cooked for at least a night. We were invited for a cholent dinner last week and it was delicious. Read more here about cholent if you want to give it a try.

A love for wine

As a kid I never understood the bigger human beings and this disgusting wine they were drinking. Nowadays things are different and although I’m not a specialist I love good red wines like a romantic sunset at a Mediterranean beach. A good wine is the good life.

This site is amazing and you must see the video with this Gary guy. His New Jersey accent is great, his energy and hilarity is big and his passion for wine is ginormous.

Purple cows

Bought a thin book called “Purple cow” by Seth Godin. Very inspiring piece of dynamite explaining the death of the old mass media TV marketing.

The message of the book is that you have to create products that are unique like purple cows. You are remarkable and no one can imitate you because you were the first. The trick is to get this product with the “sneezers”. This are the people that will love your product so much that they will tell their friends about it.

It is funny when you pay attention to your surroundings and you start to notice when people “sneeze” about new products, restaurants etcetera.

Mr Godin starts his book with the fact that we have everything. We’re people who already have a dishwasher, tv, asperine and so on. So now there is only money left in the niche markets. Wonder what will happen after that market is satisfied.
